about me

March25

Hello! My name is Adrienne, and I am a wife and mother, Southern by birth and Canadian by marriage, who loves sharing the search for my missing piece.

Oh, I’m lookin’ for my missin’ piece
I’m lookin’ for my missin’ piece
Hi-dee-ho, here I go
lookin’ for my missin’ piece.

It’s about the journey, people. Hi-dee-ho, here we go.

Butterfly Confidential is my personal blog. The place I stash away the creativity of today to make room for a more delicious tomorrow.

I love to write. What a surprise that has been! But it has kept me happy, healthy and growing since 2003, so I continue. My secret hope – or not so secret now – is that one day all this blogging will help me become an author. For now, I’m letting the reversible cape of healer and writer settle on my shoulders and enter fully into my identity.

Hidden in these wings, you’ll find book reviews, family recipes, photos of flowers, poetry that my pen finds, loads of geekyness, musings about my career as an almost nurse, my obsession with productivity, the occasional video game and personal essays about all of the above and more. It grows and changes over the years.

Currently however I am in nursing school working towards my BScN and I really should try to find a teensy white cap to put on the butterfly on the front page. I am becoming a nurse and so is my blog.

You can find me all over the net by visiting my Google profile. Yes, I’m quite the shameless fangirl.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don’t care, I’m still free
You can’t take the – Google email, Reader, Calendar, Contacts, Chrome – sky from me.

Thanks for visiting. Drop by for a coffee – butterflyconfidential {at} gmail {dot} com - anytime!

  • "Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable." — C.S. Lewis
