Mark your calendars because October 16th this fall Where the Wild Things Are is coming to theaters!

The trailer was released today and now I’m just freaking out. Go watch it. Shoo, shoo.

It has me smiling to pieces and crying at the same time. Oh my goodness, all the funny t-shirts I’ve been wearing with Max and the monsters on them… they were like… like… prophetic. Can’t wait for the kids to get home. We were just looking at the character figures of these characters in the local geek shop on our window shopping day. They were “on special” for $150 big ones. I wonder if that sale sign will disappear and the price will double. NO matter.

*happydance, happydance*

“And [he] sailed back over a year
and in and out of weeks
and through a day
and into the night of his very own room
where he found his supper waiting for him
and it was still hot.”
Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are)

And the hat-tip goes to Felicia Day and Twitter.

  • "Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable." — C.S. Lewis
