Set up your avatar

Have you guys seen the little monster pictures showing up next to your names when you comment here?

Your profile photos from Blogger that I know – and love – so well aren’t showing up because I’ve moved over to WordPress. For now my solution is the little monsters. It’s a plug-in – akin to a gadget on blogger – that puts in a funny little monster avatar when it doesn’t recognize someone’s email address.

Good news is that you can make your own avatar at a website called Gravatar. The only thing it needs is your email address and a photo upload, and any time you comment on a blog – hopefully mine icon wink Set up your avatar – the author will be able to see your shining faces!

The “gr” in front of avatar stands for “globally recognized,” meaning your online identity will be consistent across any gravatar enabled blog or website on the web. Neat, eh? Not to mention totally free, quick and easy. Try it out and then comment on this post to see it in action. icon smile Set up your avatar

  • "Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable." — C.S. Lewis
