Book Review Policy

July21

I’m open to reading books for review, whether backlist or ARC. I have not yet ventured into the e-reader marketplace and prefer to read hard-copies.

Check out my goodreads profile for my many interests, but in short and sweet form, I enjoy fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, memoir and biography, literary fiction, graphic novels and nonfiction. I’m partial to Canadian and Southern U.S. authors and settings, not to mention anything to do with healthcare or nursing.

If you are on a schedule and need a review by a certain date, then the earlier you can get the book to me the better. I am a fast reader but work, raise kids and have many books waiting on my nightstand to read just for pleasure. I’ve lived in and out of libraries since I was 10, and even if I have lots to read, I always end up visiting my local library again and getting more to read. That is good thing for you. The more I read, the more my interests have deepened and expanded. I am a lifelong learner.

In order to post a review, I would both finish and enjoy your book. I’d rather not give bad press, but if I can think of any demographic that would enjoy your book better than I, then I would post with that in mind.

Feel free to contact me for my mailing information if you think I’d be a match for your book: butterflyconfidential {at} gmail {dot} com

Thanks so much,

  • "Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable." — C.S. Lewis
